Mini Sheepadoodle Puppies for Sale

Intro

When picking out mothers for our Mini Sheepadoodles, we will look at personality and size. Since we are breeding minis, we will generally go for a smaller OES. Our mamas are all in the 65 lb. range.

Our sires (poodles) will generally be around 10 to 15 lbs.

When the term F1 Mini Sheepadoodle is used, this is saying it is a first generation cross. The sire is a mini poodle, the mama an OES, an F1B is a ¾ poodle ¼ OES. These will be smaller in size, and more likely to be completely hypo allergenic.

What is a Mini Sheepadoodle?

What is a Mini Sheepadoodle?

The Mini Sheepadoodle is a crossbreed of the Old English Sheepdog, and Poodle. The Mini Sheepadoodle may vary in size, depending on the size of the Dam (Olde English Sheepdog) and Sire (Poodle). The Mini Sheepadoodle may also vary in color and coat with the poodle daddy being credited with most of these specifics. At Happy Tail Doodles we test both parent’s health genetics, as well as the father’s (poodle) color and coat type genetics to bring you the top quality, gorgeous, and baby-faced companions.    This super trainable, lovable crossbreed that combines the best characteristics of two of the most loyal breeds in the world.

What is the size of a Mini Sheepadoodle?

Mini Sheepadoodle can range anywhere from 15 to 40 pounds depending on the dogs used for breeding. Size of the puppy is often not known until after birth. At Happy Tail Doodles our goal is to have our F1 puppies varying from 28 to 35 lbs. and our F1b’s varying around 15 to 20 lbs.

Coat of Mini Sheepadoodles

The Mini Sheepadoodle coat is generally a soft and wavy coat and will come in a variety of patterns and colors.

  • The most popular is the black and white, with the head being all white and most of the body black with some white. The white may fade into the grayish color of Olde English Sheepdogs or stay a solid black.
  • The Panda-faced look is a much-coveted look, when both eyes are masked in black, and the rest of the face is white, creating a panda bear look.
  • The Sable color consists of a any sable color and white markings. (Sable is a color that will generally carry a fading gene and will lighten in color as they age).
  • The merle and white is a gorgeous pattern in the dog’s coat usually with a gray under coat and black speckles throughout.  It’s markings of white will either resemble the traditional Olde English Sheepdog look or the Panda-faced look.
  • When breeding multi-gen Sheepadoodles you will see colors such as crème and white, or mostly white with some black.

Shedding/Hypo-Allergenic Coat

There are different coat types in Mini Sheepadoodles as well. We may see a fluffier coat in some vs. more of a curly poodle coat in others. While the fluffy coat may be more appealing in appearance, the curly coat is more suitable for allergy sufferers due to generally being less shedding than the fluffy coat. It is difficult to predict these coats as young puppies due to observing a puppy coat vs. the adult coat, which generally comes in at approximately five to six months of age. At Happy Tail Doodles we run a coat-type genetic test on our sires to ensure they carry 2 copies of the non-shedding gene as well as 2 copies of furnishings to bring you the best chance at having a low-shedding, beautifully furnished fur-baby.
